Now we are divided!
But, it’s not the obvious dichotomy of the have and the have-not, or of the healthy and the ill, it’s a division of misfortune and shame. The shame accrues to those who continue to support in any way the beast in the White House slouching toward Gomorrah; the misfortunate are all the rest. There is, and can be, no moral or ethical justification for that support. The shamed are unmoored from any principle, they are without recourse. But, he’s for small-government, some say. But, he's for lower taxes, some say. But, he supports Israel, some say. But, he puts the right people on the supreme court, some say. But, he’s a christian, some say. But, he’s tough on China, some say. But, he’s against abortion, some say. But he’ll keep all the nasty foreigners out, some say. As if any of those individual rationalizations can, in the balance, possibly outweigh his deficiencies - glaringly obvious deficiencies - his moral bankruptcy, solipsism, avarice, venality, vanity, gluttony, vindictiveness, pettiness, incompetence and cruelty. A man is the sum of all his parts - his sum is pestilence, chaos and evil. We suffer. We abide. We must no longer tolerate.
We’ve been failed by our political classes that allowed this moral bankrupt to behave like a king, and by his supporters that elevated him to a god. For surely they treat him as one would a divinity. He cannot be understood, he cannot be questioned, he is ineffable and must be obeyed; defended - the giver of laws, the bringer of wrath, the arbiter of all, the alpha and the omega. Shame on them for that.
We’ve been failed by our religious classes that failed to speak out, and continue in this failure. Their just reward is that their gods have been killed by a servant of evil, their flocks scattered and lost, deaf and fallen to idolatry - swept away by the king of corruption. Shame on them for that.
And, to you his disciples, acolytes and worshipers I say, you ought to be ashamed too. You ought to fall on your knees before the misfortunate and beg their forgiveness, and when it is granted, you ought to make atonement. There is an obligation to return to the path of charity, mercy and justice. You are not subjects, you are not votaries, you are citizens. Atone in November.
Cast out this devil.
